Shooting With Mike
Our classes are taught in a relaxed, comfortable, non-intimidating atmosphere. Your instructor, Mike Oakley, spent 31 years in the Navy, the first several in Vietnam serving with special forces search and rescue teams. He was a pistol and rifle expert as well as a range master while serving and has been an avid outdoors man /shooter for more than 40 years. Mike also achieved an intermediate peace officer certification during his years as a Texas State Trooper.
Basic Pistol Course
Includes Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training
DETAILS: The Basic Pistol Course is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper use of your handgun.
This course includes:
-Classroom instruction
-Range time (Range fee is included).
Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.
Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook upon completion.

Texas License to Carry (LTC)
Includes all instruction and testing required by the state of Texas to apply for your License to Carry a handgun.
This class includes:
-Classroom Instruction, 4.5 hours
-Written exam needed for licensing
-Range Proficiency testing
-TX Handgun Licensing Laws Handbook (via Download)
-DPS required B27 target is provided
-Range Fees included
-Students are responsible for providing a handgun for qualification purposes, along with a minimum 50 rounds of ammunition.
NOTE: The shooting portion of the curriculum is a Shooting Proficiency Test, not Basic Firearm Instruction. You will need to know how to operate your gun before coming to class. We cover the legal aspects of concealed carry, open carry, safe firearm handling and storage, the use of force and deadly force, and nonviolent dispute resolution.
